Vintage film poster ( Framed) circa 50s-80s, unearthed from Cuba. A unique hand silk screened reproduction with rich vibrant colours, and a lovely tempura raised finish to the inks. The poster was silk-screened in the Cuban Film Institute workshop in Havana in the past 15 years – some years after the poster and movie were first released. The cuban film Institute made a relatively small number of official ‘2nd Editions’ in the same silk screen workshop, using the same handmade, one colour at a time techniques. Collectable in it’s own right, this is a 2nd edition’ poster. CINE MOVIL, a playful interpretation of Charlie Chaplin on wheels referencing how thew movies would tour Cuba on the back of a truck. This colourful and whimsical poster was desighned by graphic-arts master Eduardo Munoz Bachs (1937-2001), whose work can be found in many prestigious collections worldwide, from the Academy of Motion picture Arts and Sciences in Los Angeles to The Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
